Crime Statistics for Anchorage Alaska in 2005
The population of Anchorage Alaska in 2005 was approximately 276109 people. Of the offenses known to law enforcement officers in 2005, 2031 were violent crimes and 11365 were property crimes. Violent crimes in 2005 included 16 cases of murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, 224 cases of forcible rape, 384
cases of robbery and 1407 cases of aggravated assault. Property crimes in 2005 included 1783 cases of burglary, 8248 cases of larceny or theft and 1334 cases of
motor vehicle theft.
If you divide these numbers out for comparison with other communities,
there were 7.4 violent crimes per every 1000 people and there were 41.2
property crimes per 1000
people in 2005.
