The population of Fairbanks Alaska in 2005 was approximately 30817 people. Of the offenses known to law enforcement officers in 2005, 306 were violent crimes and 1587 were property crimes. Violent crimes in 2005 included 2 cases of murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, 47 cases of forcible rape, 65
