The population of Hartford Connecticut in 2005 was approximately 125086 people. Of the offenses known to law enforcement officers in 2005, 1442 were violent crimes and 9513 were property crimes. Violent crimes in 2005 included 25 cases of murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, 46 cases of forcible rape, 692
